The VSS for the CD4E is below the firewall transmission mount- on the transmission. It faces up. Crawl under the vehicle and look around the bottom of the driver's side firewall on the transmission.
The Vehicle Speed Sensor is located at the lower rear of the transaxle.

- Where can I buy a transmission range sensor for a 1999 Ford Contour? I need a new transmission range sensor for my 1999 Ford Contour 2.0L 4cyl automatic but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I really don't want to take it into the shop and pay over $100 for it when I can buy it and replace it myself.
